Mission
The mission of Company B is to increase the combat effectiveness of division, corps, and theater army forces by accomplishing mobility, countermobility, and survivability tasks. To construct, repair, and maintain main supply routes, landing strips, airfield, and building structures and utilities. To perform infantry combat missions when required.

History
The unit has participated in numerous ODT exercises over the past years to include Honduras, Panama, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Marshall Islands, Bolivia, Korea and most recently the Philippines.
The unit has also completed two long tour mobilizations in the recent past. The unit was mobilized in support of Operation Joint Guardian, Kosovo, January 2000 - August 2000. Most recently the unit deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, January 2003 - April 2004.
Upon re-deployment from Operation Iraqi Freedom I, the unit officially moved into and occupied a new Armed Forces Reserve Center. The unit shares this spacious and very functional facility with the USMC Reserve.
The unit also prides itself on the completion of numerous Innovative Readiness Training missions in local communities. We are fortunate to have the Military Occupation Specialties that allow us to complete community projects, in both vertical and horizontal construction. This current year, the unit will continue construction on the Airport Park Softball Complex and a new bathroom facility at the Bois de Sioux Golf Course, both located in Wahpeton, ND. Training will be conducted in a Contemporary Operating Environment to ensure that our soldiers are prepared for future real world missions.
